This is a beautiful bird of prey which has an air of mystery and is a major predator of smaller woodland birds. It hunts in woodlands and on the edges of forests , their attacks are approx 10% successful.

Its predators are the owl, Goshawks and Peregrine Falcons. The Sparrowhawk measures about 23″ to 31″ wingspan and weighs 3.9 to 12 ounces.

The immature sparrow-hawk is often found around garden bird tables and feeders as they are easy ways to feed.
